Taking client notes

Keeping your client notes up-to-date, sharing them with your client and ensuring that your notes remain confidential, are all an important element of safeguarding.

There are many ways to take notes, store them confidentially, and share them. Here are just two that we would recommend:

Apple Notes: if you use a Mac, these can be a really useful, quick way of taking notes. Notes can also be shared with other Mac users or attached to emails and you can add photos and images as memory prompts.

Another alternative is to create folders using Google Drive or Dropbox. Folders can be created for each client, and then individual session notes shared. You will also find a number of free online therapy not and client management platforms.

Katriona O’Sullivan – Poor

As the middle of five kids growing up in dire poverty, the odds were low on Katriona O'Sullivan making anything of her life. When she became a mother at 15 and ended up homeless, what followed were five years of barely coping.

This is the extraordinary story - moving, funny, brave, and sometimes startling - of how Katriona turned her life around. How the seeds of self-belief planted by teachers in childhood stayed with her. How she found mentors whose encouragement revived those seeds in adulthood.

His chapter on Education is a great resourse and so inspiring as to how to support young people looking at their learning options and what is important to consider. Enlightening and thought provoking!!
